2015 “Trash Trek” Season District Boundaries
UPDATED as of 9/27 – not necessarily final yet
We have divided our region into several districts – teams are assigned into the district based on their home city and will be able to register into a tournament within their district only.
Summary Changes from 2014: Los Gatos moves to Peninsula District. Newark move to Silicon Valley (as well as Fremont). Alameda county cities along the I-880 corridor will move to Peninsula. The rest of Alameda County and Contra Costa County will move to Capital district.
Silicon Valley district includes these cities in Santa Clara county: San Jose, Santa Clara, Campbell, Milpitas, Morgan Hill, and all of San Benito, Santa Cruz and Monterey counties plus Fremont and Newark.
East Bay district
Peninsula district includes these cities in Santa Clara county: Cupertino, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Los Gatos, Mt. View, Saratoga, Sunnyvale, and all of San Mateo, Marin and San Francisco counties plus Alameda county cities along I-880 (going south) including Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont, Oakland, Alameda, San Leandro, Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, Hayward and Union City.
Capitol district includes the following counties (not all have registered teams): Alpine, Amador,Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Glenn, Humboldt, Lake, Lassen, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba plus Contra Costa county and inland Alameda county cities of Pleasanton, Dublin and Livermore.
Teams are assigned to a district based on the team’s city listed in the FIRST TIMS database. Each district has their own specific set of qualifiers within that district and all qualifiers in that district advance into a specific championship.
Each team may compete at only one qualifying event and will only be able to register into a tournament within their district. If the district fills up and there is no additional space, a team may be redistricted into one of the other districts. There is no opportunity to request attending a different district.
If your team is not planning on competing at a tournament in the Northern California region this year, please let us know.
