In NorCal, we have 2 Registration Rounds – you will either be in Round 1 OR in Round 2:
Round 1 for those that MET all 3 Pre-Requisites by October 1st
[Opens: 10/10 at 7pm]Teams whose pre-reqs have been received by Playing at Learning by 10/1 will be able to register for a qualifying tournament in their district – first come, first served. For best results, you should have a prioritized list of tournaments as well as any dates that your team can’t make when you begin this online registration process as we expect that some tournaments will fill rapidly.
Round 2 for those that met the 3 Pre-Requisites anytime AFTER October 1st
[Opens: 10/14 at 7pm ]Teams whose pre-reqs were not all received by the 10/1 pre-reg deadline will be able to register for a qualifying tournament in this 2nd round. Teams can register into a tournament in their district that has open slots during the “rolling” round 2 registration once we have all of the pre-registration requirements met (all of your forms and payment). The team will be enabled as soon as all required items are completed after this phase opens.
We do NOT use FIRST’s Event Registration system, so none of our specific tournaments will be searchable on the usfirst.org (gofll.usfirst.org or other) site! Current Qualifier list is here
If your team is not planning on competing at a Nor Cal tournament for the 2013 season, please just send an email to fll@playingatlearning.org so we don’t have to aggressively try to reach you via email/phone. Your timely notification will save everyone time and effort.
Where are the tournaments in my district?
The specific list of current tournament sites is here – we are still looking for MANY additional tournament hosts and sites in each district. Not sure what district your team is in? 2013 Districts
IMPORTANT: If you are the primary coach for 3 or more teams and all of your teams must compete at the exact same tournament due to school trip logistics or similar requirements, please contact us no later than September 28th at fll@playingatlearning.org, as we will be handling “large school groups” as a special case registration situation. Note that FIRST requires every team to have a primary adult present and available. This means that if you are coaching more than 1 team, you must identify the primary adult that will be attending the tournament for each team – you can be the primary adult for exactly 1 team but additional teams must have a different adult for each.
